All-in-one Slow Cooker is a Game Changer
Have you found yourself staring blankly at a pile of groceries, not quite sure how to make it a nutritious meal that tastes good? This all-in-one slow cooker review is for you! As a busy working mom of 2 that struggled with health issues, and let’s face it life at that time I have been there. I have had my share of kitchen melt downs, clean house melt downs and after scrolling the gram feelings of not being enough. How do these women make their life so picture perfect?
I am here to remind you life is for living, and guess what you can enjoy life and NOT struggle getting a healthy meal on the table. No one has a perfect life, but there are tools you can use to make your life easier. This is why I want to share with you, my favorite kitchen hack!
Shout out to Landyn!
Years ago, I had started following Living with Landyn. She is the wife of NFL hall of famer Steve Hutchinson and let me tell you, she knows how to make things pretty! I know, it sounds crazy she has access to many things the average mom doesn’t, but there is something about her that is so down to earth and relatable. She shared her favorite all in one programmable slow cooker and immediately I took note.
How had I never heard of such a thing before? A slow cooker that you can actually brown meat in. The only problem was I had never paid that much for small appliances. I had never used one and I wasn’t sure that I could justify the cost. So I literally stalked the stores looking for a deal and one day I was able to finally pull the trigger! That was the day it was like an entirely new world opened up.
Favorite Review
Now, you might be thinking this is just like my Instapot but there are features that set them apart. Today I want to share with you our 2 favorite brands for the all in one slow cooker. The All-Clad and the GreenPan. There are a few different features and capabilities that you might want to consider before purchasing either and so we will share those with you and why we like them.
All Clad Review
This has 7 features:
- slow cook
- rice
- steam
- sear
- simmer
- high/lo setting
Pros: There are so many things I love about this all-in-one! My favorite part is that I can practically use it just like I would a pan on the stove, but then set it and forget it. The glass lid allows me to see the food as it is cooking and allows me to know when to adjust the temperature or timing. The warm function is ideal- especially for big families or sports families when you have a night that you want everyone to have a home cooked meal, but need it at different times.
I love that you can combine heat settings- I notice that my soups turn out better if I start them on a high setting for a few hours and finish them on a low setting. The All Clad has a programmable timer so that I can literally set it to cook on high 2 hours and then 4 hours on low without having to be home to adjust it.
Cons: I don’t love that it is aluminum coated. Also, there isn’t a locking lid so you cannot do pressure cooking in this pan. Sometimes I mess up the preheat on the control panel and accidentally turn the unit off instead of adjusting the cooking time. I also love that I can set the low/high combination, but the shortest amount of high or low I can have is 2 hours. I would love if I could adjust it to 1 hour.
GreenPan Review
- slow cook
- simmer
- high/medium/lo setting
- warm
- sauté’
- sear
Pros: Love that the Green Pan is made out of stainless steel with silicone handles so you don’t burn yourself. The inner pot can be removed and you can either sear directly on the unit or over the stove top. It has a few different functions from the All Clad like the ability to have a medium setting. This unit also comes with a stainless steel steamer for minimal effort shell fish, veggies and many more. This also has the warm function which is perfect for buffet style meals or pot lucks. It has a digital display that is easy to read. The exterior of the cooker is made out of stainless steel and the weight is light making it an easy transport to gatherings.
Now go Buy one!
We love both of these pans! The biggest differences are the coating- GreenPan is the clean version. The all-clad you can program both high/lo and with GreenPan you cannot. One major benefit to both of these is that if you are cooking a large meal for the upcoming holiday season and are low on stove top and oven space this can give you the space you need right on your kitchen counters. This is the perfect gift for both a novice and seasoned chef because of the ease of use with multiple capabilities. You can easily create tasty meals using our favorite recipes or your own go to meals.
