BBQ Meatball Sliders on Hawaiian Rolls

Not only is this the perfect party appetizer but it makes a simple and delicious dinner everyone will love! I made the meatballs slightly larger than average and they make the perfect size for a sandwich. You can make our Homemade Hawaiian Roll recipe or buy your favorites at the store. Either way this will be a delicious and simple way to feed your guests or your family. Serve with some cole slaw or your favorite sides!

BBQ Meatballs on Hawaiian Rolls

Ingredients

Meatball Ingredients

  • 2 lb ground beef
  • 2 tsp all purpose salt
  • 1/4 c Worcestershire
  • 1 egg
  • 16 Mini Hawaiian Sliders Buy or Use our Homemade recipe above
  • 1 c gruyere cheese shredded

BBQ Sauce

  • 1 1/2 c ketchup
  • 1/4 c white vinegar
  • 1/4 c Worcestershire
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1/4 c honey

Seasoned Butter

  • 1/4 c butter melted
  • 1 tsp all purpose salt

Instructions

Make Meatballs

  • Preheat oven to 350 and line a sheet tray with parchment
  • Add all meatball ingredients into a bowl and mix well until combined but do not over mix meat mixture
  • Use a 1/4 c measure or large cookie scoop and scoop out meatballs, will get about 16
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes
  • Remove from oven and cool

BBQ Sauce

  • Combine all sauce ingredients into a large bowl and whisk well
  • Add meatballs into sauce and toss to coat

Seasoned Butter

  • Mix melted butter and seasoning salt together and set aside

Assemble and Bake

  • Slice Hawaiian rolls in half, place bottoms on a lined sheet tray
  • Then add a meatball onto each slider roll and add a tablespoon or two of gruyere cheese
  • Add on the top and continue until all sandwiches are assembled
  • Brush the tops with the seasoned butter and bake at 350 for 15 minutes until everything is heated through and cheese is melted
  • Enjoy with sliced veggies or cole slaw
