Beef Tallow French Fries
super easy
You can’t have a burger night without a big plate of Beef Tallow French Fries. Fried in nature’s beef tallow instead of dirty, processed seed oils makes these slightly healthier and they taste far superior to anything you can buy at a fast food place. They are perfectly crispy and don’t require a fancy frier, you can make them right in a skillet or pot. We hope you enjoy!
Beef Tallow French Fries
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 2 cup beef tallow
- 6 russet potatoes
- 4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Wash 6 russet potatoes and let them dry
- You can either use a veggie chopper (see reel for details) or you can hand slice them into a thin French fry size
- Fill a large bowl with cold water and place fries into water to soak for 40 minutes
- Then dump into a colander, rinse, and dry on a towel.
- While drying, heat 2 cup beef tallow in a large pot or deep skillet over medium heat for about 10 minutes
- Drop fries into oil in small/med size batches. You do not want to over crowd your oil as the temperature will drop
- Thickness will vary cooking time, but if you do thinner fries like mine, they will cook about 6-7 minutes until golden brown
- Remove from oil onto a tray with paper towels. Add 4 tsp salt as fries are cooling and continue frying until done
- Enjoy with burgers or favorite dipping sauce
