Cheesy Toad in the Hole
super easy
I wasn’t a huge fan of eggs growing up but my parents could always get me to eat them if they made this Cheesy Toad in the Hole. It’s the perfect high protein, filling breakfast that the whole family will love. Its super simple and so much more appealing then putting a pile of eggs down in front of kids who might not enjoy them. We hope you love them!
Cheesy Toad in the Hole
Servings: 1
Ingredients
- 2 Egg
- 1 Bagel (Can buy or make our 30 minute bagels in base recipes)
- 1/4 cup Cheese (use your fav, I love Monterrey Jack or Gruyere)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Seasoning (Use your favorite, I love everything but the bagel)
Instructions
- Heat cast iron or other skillet until hot. Add 2 tbsp Butter
- Crack 2 Egg into a bowl and whisk.
- Slice 1 Bagel in half, cut a slightly larger opening in bagel if you don't already have one. Butter the flat side and place face side down on hot skillet
- Add the eggs into the center, a bit may run out, that's ok
- Cook 1-2 minutes then flip and cook the other side. Remove from skillet, add 1/4 cup Cheese and favorite 1 tbsp Seasoning on top. I use salt and pepper or everything but the bagel most often.
- If you had to cut out the center pieces to make the hole larger in the bagel, you can toast those up on the skillet as well and add some butter and honey. Enjoy!
