Classic Spaghetti Sauce

Did you know homemade spaghetti sauce is easy to make? With a good jar of marinara at the store pretty pricey, this can be made in the comfort of your home where you know what the ingredients are and nothing can beat the flavor.

The rich, delicious flavor of this homemade spaghetti sauce is nothing short of amazing!
Classic Spaghetti Sauce
Servings: 8
Equipment
- 1 large sauce pan or Dutch oven
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 lb Organic 90 percent lean ground beef
- 30 oz Organic tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Organic cane sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1/2 cup Beef broth
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 Small Bay leaf 1/2 large
Instructions
- In a Dutch oven or large pan add in 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil. Add in the 1 lb Organic 90 percent lean ground beef and chop up the ground beef with a meat chopper to cook. Add in the 1/2 Onion chopped as well.
- Brown the meat and caramelize the onions so they are soft.
- Pour in the 30 oz Organic tomato sauce, 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp Organic cane sugar, 1/2 tbsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp Garlic powder, 1/2 tsp Onion powder 1/2 cup Beef broth and 1 Small Bay leaf .
- Place lid on and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve over your favorite pasta.
Notes
Freezing
- Once cooled to room temperature, Pour into a large ball jar and seal with the lid. Be sure to leave space at the top because the sauce will expand when it freezes. Place in the freezer for up to 2 months. You can also store in freezer safe ziploc bags.
