Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium heat. If you don't have one a large sauce pan will work.
Add in vermicelli and rice. Continue stirring until vermicelli turns a golden brown.

Pour in water and seasonings. Bring to a boil.

Add in chicken and broccoli and reduce heat to low. Place the lid on.

Continue to cook on low 25-30 minutes until all of the liquid is absorbed and the chicken/broccoli is cooked thoroughly. If the rice isn't cooked all the way through add a little bit more more water and stir/ place lid on and heat another 5 minutes.
