Hershey Syrup Dupe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Granulated sugar  (can use cane or turbinado)
  • 1 cup Coconut sugar (can use brown sugar here too for nut allergies, just decrease to 3/4 cup)
  • 1 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp Pink himalayan salt
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract (vanilla bean paste works well too)

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, add 1 cup Granulated sugar, 1 cup Coconut sugar, 1 cup Dutch processed cocoa powder, 1/4 tsp Pink himalayan salt, and 1 cup Water. Whisk, then put over medium heat.
  • Stir every few minutes until mixture comes to a boil.
  • Then, stir constantly for about 3-5 minutes until mixture starts to thicken just a bit.
  • Remove from heat, add in 1 tsp Vanilla extract, and whisk. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer to a jar or other airtight container. Store in fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  • Enjoy 2-3 tbsp in milk for chocolate milk or drizzle over your favorite dessert/ice cream.
