Holiday Puppy Chow

Ingredients
- 12 oz Rice chex
- 4 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Cashew butter
- 10 oz Semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp Peppermint
- 2 1/2 cup Powdered sugar (we love wholesome brand)
- 10 Crushed candy canes (we use Yum Earth- natural dye!)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add 12 oz of rice chex, set aside
- Then in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat add 4 tbsp butter, 1 c cashew butter, and 10 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Stir until smooth, turn off heat
- Then add 2 tsp vanilla extract and 1/2 tsp peppermint extract, whisk well
- Add to rice chex and toss gently to coat evenly
- Then in Ziploc bag crush candy canes, then add 2 1/2 c powdered sugar, toss to mix
- Dump powdered sugar and candy canes over chocolate chex mix and fold gently to coat
- Dump onto parchment paper or sheet tray and allow to cool. You can coat with more powdered sugar if some melts while still hot
- Store in Ziploc bags for up to 5 days or you can freeze it in advance!
- Enjoy!

Storage
- Store in ziploc bag at room temp for up to 5 days.
- You can also freeze for up to 2 months in advance.
- Thaw at room temperature for an hour before eating and coat with extra powdered sugar if needed
