Loaded Potater Tots

Love loaded potatoes but don’t love all the work involved? Then you will love these Loaded Potater Tots! This recipe is a short cut to the loaded baked potato flavor you know and love in a fraction of the time! We use the classic ingredients like bacon, cheese, and green onion but you can add any other toppings you like. We hope you love this simplified twist on a classic!
Loaded Potater Tots
Servings: 8
Ingredients
- 16 oz potato tots we love Alexia brand
- 8 oz bacon we love Applegate
- 8 oz cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/2 c green onion chopped
- 1/2 c sour cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to directions of package
- Cook tater tots according to package directions but minus 5 minutes
- While tater tots are cooking preheat a large skillet over medium high heat and cook bacon until crispy and done but do not burn
- Drain on paper towel on a plate
- Chop drained and cooled bacon into small crumble sized pieces
- Shred cheddar cheese and chop green onion into thin slices
- Remove tater tots from oven, sprinkle with cheese, then bacon, then green onion
- Place back in the oven for 3-5 minutes until cheese is melty
- Remove from oven, cool for 5-10 minutes and serve with sour cream and more chopped green onion if desired
