Skillet Chicken with Mushroom and Wine Sauce
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb Thin sliced chicken breast
Coating
- 1/2 cup Einkorn flour
- 1/4 cup Arrowroot
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp Ground cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Pink himalayan salt
Sautee in Pan First
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 Onion (finely chopped)
- 4 oz Crimini mushrooms
- 3 clove Garlic
Final Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Dry white wine (not chardonnay)
- 1/2 cup Whole milk
Instructions
- In a bowl whisk together all of the coating ingredients- flour, arrow root, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and salt.
- Dredge the chicken in the mixture one at a time coating both sides and place on a plate.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat. Add in 2 TBSP butter and sautee the onions, garlic and mushrooms.
- Remove the mushrooms,garlic and onions and set aside.
- Place the chicken onto the pan and sear. Once browned flip and do the same thing to the other side.
- Pour in the white wine to deglaze the pan.
- Pour in the milk and add the mushrooms, garlic and onions back in.
- Let simmer until sauce thickens.
- Serve over your favorite side- we like mashed potatoes linked in the component recipe.
