Texas Toast Dupe

Pasta night wasn’t complete in my house without the delicious buttery Texas Toast. And while I still love the flavors I don’t love the ingredients. This Texas Toast Dupe is our healthier twist on the classic that your whole family will love! You can use your favorite store bought loaf or make our easy high protein bread with no yeast! Either way, you will love incorporating this dish into your weeknight meals.

Texas Toast Dupe

Ingredients
- 1 High Protein Bread Recipe see attached recipe above or buy your favorite loaf
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 tbsp Minced garlic
- 2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1 cup Grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Make high protein bread recipe (recipe linked above in paragraph) or buy your favorite load
- While bread is baking, heat a medium skillet over medium heat and preheat oven to 375
- Add 1 tbsp of minced garlic, saute for a few minutes over medium low heat, do not burn
- Add 1/2 cup of butter to pan, mix around for a few minutes until melted
- Then add in 2 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, and 1/2 tsp of onion powder
- Mix until everything is melted and incorporated well
- Turn off heat, do not let butter burn
- Add butter to a glass dish to cool down
- Once butter if at room temperature, whisk in 1/2 c parmesan cheese
- Slice bread into 12 slices, brush generously with butter mixture and add a bit more parmesan cheese
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown
- Cool and enjoy!

Storage
- You can freeze fully made texas toast, then reheat at 350 for 10 minutes
