My Approved Grocery Haul: 39 Clean-Ingredient Finds for Real Family Cooking
Can I tell you something I ’ve been thinking about a lot lately? Real food doesn’t have to be complicated. It also doesn’t have to mean spending your entire Sunday in the kitchen or sourcing obscure ingredients from four different stores.
What it does mean — at least in my house — is being really intentional about what comes through the door. Because a weeknight dinner is only as good as what you have on hand. And when your pantry and freezer are stocked with products you actually trust and like? Cooking for your family feels so much less like a chore.
So today I’m sharing with you my latest grocery haul. 39 products across 11 categories that have been in regular rotation in my kitchen. These are the brands I keep coming back to, the ones that pass my (pretty strict) ingredient check, and the ones that actually make it onto our dinner table.
Let’s get into it.
What I Look For in a Product
Before I share the list, here’s my quick gut-check when evaluating anything new:
- A short, readable ingredient list — if I can’t pronounce it, it’s probably not coming home with me
- No artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives
- Quality fats — avocado oil, grass-fed butter, beef tallow over seed oils whenever possible
- Sourcing that matters — organic when it counts, regenerative when it’s available
I’m not perfect, and I’m not asking you to be either. But I do believe that small, consistent swaps add up — and having better options in your pantry makes those swaps effortless.
Breads & Wraps
This category is where so many of us default to whatever’s cheapest or most convenient — but the good news is that cleaner options are more accessible than ever.
J&J Tortilla Co. — Organic Unbleached White Flour Tortillas
Made in Michigan (yes, I love a local find!), these tortillas are certified organic with zero preservatives and just five clean ingredients. They’re our go-to for taco night, quesadillas, and wraps all week long.
Essential Baking Co. — Artisan Thin Pizza Crust & French Demi Baguettes
Both made with a 100+ year old sourdough starter and certified organic. The pizza crust has become a Friday night staple — top it with the Muir Glen pizza sauce below and you have a homemade pizza night that’s actually doable on a weeknight. The demi baguettes bake from scratch in minutes and make any soup feel like a restaurant meal.
Broths & Soups
Kettle & Fire — Organic Chicken Broth
A pantry staple I never let run out. This broth is made from organic chicken bones and is rich enough to sip on its own. I use it as the base for soups, rice, and anything that needs a little extra something.
Pacific Foods — Organic Cream of Mushroom Condensed Soup
This one is a game changer if you grew up using the canned stuff in casseroles. Pacific Foods’ version is gluten-free, USDA organic, and made with real ingredients — no mystery additives. It makes the creamiest chicken and rice casserole.
Canned & Jarred
Muir Glen Organic — Pizza Sauce & Chili Starter with Bell Peppers
Muir Glen is one of those brands I’ve trusted for years. Their California-grown organic tomatoes are the real deal. The pizza sauce is simple and perfect — no added sugar, just tomatoes and seasoning. The chili starter is my weeknight shortcut: pour it over browned beef and beans and dinner is ready in 20 minutes.
Rice, Beans & Grains
Somos — Mexican Brown Rice, Fajita White Rice & Mexican Street Corn Pinto & Black Beans
If you haven’t tried Somos yet, please add these to your cart immediately. They’re restaurant-quality rice and bean pouches with clean ingredients and incredible flavor. We make taco bowls with these at least once a week — pair with the Siete taco shells, some protein, and the Siete fajita seasoning and dinner is done in 10 minutes.
Proteins
Force of Nature — 100% Grass-Fed Beef Meatballs Italian Style
These are fully cooked, soy-free, gluten-free meatballs made from beef raised on regenerative pastures. Warm them up and serve over pasta or tucked into a sub — dinner in under 10 minutes and you feel good about what you’re feeding your family.
Kidfresh — Chicken Meatballs
A family favorite. My kids have no idea how good these are for them, and I’m not telling them. Hidden veggie pasta sauce + these meatballs = a win every single time.
Chomps — Original Beef Mini Sticks
High protein, clean ingredients, and zero sugar. These live in my bag, my car, and on the counter for after-school snacks. Non-negotiable.
Sauces & Condiments
This is where I have the most fun. A great sauce can completely transform a simple meal.
Noble Made — Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce
Zero sugar, made with avocado oil, and absolutely delicious on chicken wings, roasted veggies, or as a dipping sauce. This one disappears fast in our house.
Mike’s Hot Honey
Drizzle this on pizza, fried chicken, or charcuterie boards and watch everyone ask what your secret is. Just two ingredients: honey and chilies. That’s it.
Naked & Saucy — Sweet Chili Sauce Mild
68% less sugar than the leading brand, gluten-free and soy-free. This is our new favorite for dipping, drizzling, and stir fries.
Bragg Organic — Coconut Liquid Aminos
My soy sauce swap for everything. Stir fry, marinades, fried rice — this gets used constantly.
Wildly Organic — Chocolate Syrup
Rich, thick, vegan, and made with fair-trade ingredients. We add this to smoothies, drizzle it over ice cream, and stir it into milk for the kids. A pantry essential.
Seasonings
Siete — Chicken Fajita Seasoning
Sprinkle this on chicken thighs before air frying or grilling and you have the base for tacos, bowls, salads, and wraps all week. So much flavor, no junk.
A Dozen Cousins — Mexican Pollo Asado Seasoning
I discovered this brand through a friend and now I can’t stop buying their seasonings. The pollo asado blend is incredible on chicken, shrimp, or even roasted cauliflower.
Snacks
Snacks are where clean eating can feel the hardest — but also where some of the best brands are innovating right now.
Kooshy — Almost Naked Sourdough Croutons
On salads, in soups, or eaten straight from the bag. Guilty.
Siete — Maíz Corn Taco Shells
Made with avocado oil, these are the best grain-free taco shells I’ve found. Crispy, sturdy, and they actually hold up to all the fillings.
Late July — Nacho Cheese Tortilla Chips
Our movie night chip. Organic, non-GMO, and way better than the conventional brands.
Boulder Canyon — Avocado Oil Classic Sea Salt Kettle Chips
Cooked in avocado oil instead of seed oils. Crispy, salty, satisfying — everything a chip should be.
Frankie’s Organic — White Cheddar Puffcorn
Light, cheesy, and completely addictive. This is the snack I hide from my kids so there’s some left for me.
Kids & Family
Goodles — Shella Good Aged White Cheddar & Shells
Mac and cheese with actual nutrition packed in. My kids think it’s a treat and I know they’re getting protein and nutrients. Everyone wins.
White Leaf Provisions — Banana Applesauce Unsweetened
Biodynamic, unsweetened, and the perfect lunchbox addition. My little ones love these pouches.
Smash Foods — Strawberry Toasties
A fun, portable snack that’s actually made with real fruit. Great for on-the-go mornings.
Barney Butter — Crunchy Peanut Butter Spread
Smooth, natural, no weird oils or added sugar. On toast, in smoothies, on apples — this one gets used every single day.
Sweet Treats
Yes, we absolutely have a sweet treat section. Clean eating isn’t about deprivation — it’s about choosing better.
Simple Mills — Sweet Mmms Cocoa Blast
Cookie-like bites made with almond flour and real cocoa. A handful of these satisfies a chocolate craving every time.
Unreal — Milk Chocolate Gems
Think M&Ms, but made with fair trade chocolate and no artificial colors. My kids’ absolute favorite and something I actually feel good about giving them.
Heavenly Hunks — Minis Oatmeal Chocolate
Soft, chewy, and perfectly portioned. These taste like a homemade cookie without any of the effort.
Van Leeuwen — Black & White Layer Cake & Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bars
Van Leeuwen makes ice cream the old-fashioned way — with real dairy and real ingredients. We grabbed both the Black & White Layer Cake and the Strawberry Shortcake bars and honestly couldn’t pick a favorite.
Miss Jones Baking Co. — Whole Grain Monster Cookie Dough
Gluten-free, made with oats, no synthetic colors or flavors. This is the ready-to-bake dough I reach for when my kids ask if we can bake something together on a weekend afternoon. Easy, fun, and the cookies are genuinely delicious.
Frozen
A well-stocked freezer is one of the best gifts you can give yourself as a busy parent. These are the frozen finds that have been earning their spot in my freezer lately.
Wholly Wholesome — Organic Traditional 9-Inch Pie Shells
USDA organic, non-GMO verified, and ready to fill with whatever you’re making — quiche, pot pie, sweet pie. Having these in the freezer means a homemade meal is never more than 30 minutes away.
Feel Good Foods — Gluten Free Pork Potstickers
Certified gluten-free with no artificial flavors, colors, or sweeteners. Pan-fry these and serve with the Bragg Coconut Aminos for dipping and you have an appetizer or light dinner that feels anything but basic.
Dufour Pastry Kitchens — Classic All Butter Puff Pastry
Made with real churned sweet butter — this is the good stuff. I use it for everything from savory hand pies to quick appetizers to fruit tarts. Keep one in the freezer at all times.
Jesse & Ben’s — Beef Tallow & Sea Salt House-Cut Fries
Cooked in grass-fed beef tallow, non-GMO, gluten-free, and seed oil free. These are the best frozen fries I’ve ever had — crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and they taste like restaurant fries. My whole family is obsessed.
How I Actually Use These in a Week
Having a stocked pantry and freezer is only half the equation — the other half is knowing how to pull it all together quickly. Here’s how a typical week looks for us:
- Monday: Taco bowls with Somos rice and beans, Siete taco shells, Siete-seasoned chicken, and all the toppings
- Tuesday: Force of Nature meatballs over pasta with a simple marinara, garlic bread from the Essential baguettes
- Wednesday: Feel Good Foods potstickers with Bragg aminos dipping sauce, Jesse & Ben’s fries on the side
- Thursday: Chicken rice casserole with Pacific Foods cream of mushroom and Kettle & Fire broth
- Friday: Homemade pizza on the Essential crust with Muir Glen pizza sauce — kids choose the toppings
See? Real food, real fast.
