Asparagus with Garlic and Gruyere

An easy way to add flavor to any meal.
Dinner just got a whole lot more delicious with this Garlic and Gruyere Asparagus. Do you struggle with side dishes and don’t want something that takes a lot of time but still tastes like it? If you are tired of steamed vegetables every night, try this for a burst of flavor. Perfect for the spring when your asparagus starts popping up.
Asparagus with Garlic and Gruyere
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Extra virgin olive oil
- 1 1/2 lb Asparagus
- 1 tbsp Coarse sea salt (can use pink hamilayan or other salt)
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 2 clove Garlic (Chopped)
- 1 cup Gruyere cheese finely grated
Instructions
- Wash and cut the asparagus. A great way to do this is soaking in baking soda and water for 15 minutes. 1 tsp. of baking soda for every cup of water. Then rinse.
- In a bowl or bag, toss in the asparagus, olive oil, coarse sea salt, onion and garlic.
- Let sit 15 minutes,
- Place a skillet over medium heat and get it hot.
- Add in the asparagus mixture and cook until cooked through.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle on the gruyere cheese.
