Cream Tomato Sauce
super easy
An easy to make creamy tomato sauce can easily be poured over any pasta, used as a dipping sauce or added in with some protein for extra flavor. We love making this ahead and freezing it to use on busy week nights.
Creamy Tomato Sauce

Equipment
- 1 saucepan
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- ½ onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 15 oz organic canned tomato sauce
- ½ cup organic chicken broth
- 12 oz organic whole milk
- 1 tsp dried basil
- ½ cup parmesan (grated from a block)
Instructions
- On the stove top, place a sauce pan over medium heat.
- Pour in 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, ½ onion chopped into small pieces, 2 cloves garlic pressed. Sautee until the onions are caramelized.
- Add in 15 oz organic canned tomato sauce, 12 oz organic whole milk, ½ cup organic chicken broth, 1 tsp dried basil and let simmer stirring frequently for 15 minutes. Turn the heat off and whisk in the ½ cup parmesan shredded.
Notes
Freezer Instructions
- You can easily freeze this sauce. Pour into a ball jar leaving 2 inches at the top. Let cool to room temperature and then place the lid on. Freeze for up to 2 months. To defrost, place in the refrigerator the night before use or defrost according to your microwave instructions.
Storage
- This keeps in the refrigerator up to 5 days.
