Ground Beef Tacos

These Ground Beef Tacos are one of our go to recipes for busy weeknights.  The reason why- they are so easy to prep ahead and pop in the freezer.  Perfect for busy weeknights or weekends when you want to actually enjoy your time and not slave all day over the stove.

Ground Beef Tacos

Equipment

  • 1 skillet
  • 1 sheet pan
  • parchment paper
  • cheese grater

Ingredients

  • 1 lb organic ground beef
  • 1 tsp organic chili powder
  • 1 tsp organic onion powder
  • ½ tsp organic garlic powder
  • ½ tsp pink Himalayan salt
  • ¼ tsp organic smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp organic oregano
  • tsp black pepper
  • tsp arrow root
  • cup water
  • 6 oz extra sharp cheddar shredded from a block
  • 8 taco shells
  • extra toppings like lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, onion etc.

Instructions

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the 1 lb organic ground beef.
  • After it is browned, add in 1 tsp organic chili powder, 1 tsp organic onion powder, ½ tsp organic garlic powder, ½ tsp pink Himalayan salt, ¼ tsp organic smoked paprika, ¼ tsp organic oregano and ⅛ tsp black pepper and ⅛ tsp arrow root along with ⅓ cup water.
  • Stir well and let simmer for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Lay 1 tortilla shell flat. Spoon 2-3 tbsp of the beef into the taco shell in the center. Sprinkle in 2-3 tsp. of shredded cheese.
  • Add remaining toppings you would like and fold 2 opposite edges in and then roll.
  • Continue until all of the taco shells are used. Enjoy! See below how to freeze.

Notes

To freeze: Only use meat and cheese as the toppings.  Be sure meat is almost room temperature before you assemble the tacos. 
Assemble just like above, then place seam side down on a parchment lined baking sheet. 
Place in the freezer for 2 hours. 
Transfer to a freezer safe container or Ziploc.  Store for up to 2 months. 
to reheat-
Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and place in the oven at 350f for 12-15 minutes until cooked through. 
You can also use an air fryer at 360f for 10-12 minutes until cooked through. 
If you want to make things easy, I love Siete Taco seasoning... you can use that instead of homemade.
