Snowman Cheese Ball

There is something about the holidays and the traditions that make them special. Every year, we kick things off with this adorable snowman cheese ball.  I love how simple it is- the kids jump right in to help me “build” him, and it turns into a fun memory we create every December. It’s easy, festive and one of those recipes you’ll want to pass down through generations.

This recipe is the perfect holiday appetizer that comes together un under 20 minutes- are you listening busy mama’s?  No cooking required, minimal clean up and guaranteed to make everyone smile.

Snowman Cheese Ball

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp Dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp Dill
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 dash Cracked pepper
  • 1 dash Mustard powder
  • 4 oz Finely shredded monterrey jack cheese
  • 10 Black pepper balls
  • 1 Sliver carrot
  • 1 serving Crackers of choise

Instructions

  • In a bowl mix together 16 oz. cream cheese, 1 tsp. garlic powder, 1 tsp. onion powder, 1/2 tsp. dried parsley, 1/2 tsp. dill, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 dash cracked pepper and 1 dash mustard powder.
  • Once well combined roll into 2 balls. 1 ball should be slightly smaller than the other.
  • Roll the balls into the Monterrey jack cheese until well coated.
  • Place the balls on a plate with the larger one on bottom and the smaller one on top.
  • Use the black pepper balls to create 2 eyes. Use the black pepper balls to create the mouth. Use the carrot slice for the nose. Store in the refrigerator covered with plastic wrap until you are ready to use.
  • Place your favorite crackers around the snowman.

Storage and Freezer Tips

Cover and store in the refrigerator up to 3 days.

You can prep the cream cheese mixture up to 24 hours in advance.  Just roll and decorate the day of.

Substitutions and Variations

Cheese: You can swap Monterrey jack for sharp white cheddar

You can add pretzel sticks for arms and use pepper strips to create a scarf.
